The preliminary examination includes two papers:

which is commonly know as civil service examination
the exam is conducted by the union public service commission under the control of the central government
after completing your graduation degree you are eligibility to an ias examination
in the graduation degree you want minimum 60% to attend the civil service exam
for the general candidates the age limit is 21-30 years
can attempt the exam only 4 times in age duration
for the obc candidates the age limit is 21-33 years
