Dear you should not worry about the regular or correspondence degree because UPSC board accept all types of degrees but the degree should be completed from a recognized board or university or institute

Your should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and if you belongs to reserved category then you will get the relaxation in upper age as per government standards which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC

Dates for upcoming UPSC civil service exam 2013

you may apply for this exam between - 2nd of february to 4th of march 2013 at www.upsc.gov.in

You may appear for civil service preliminary exam at - 19th of may 2013

Preliminary exam has 2 papers for 400 marks and this would be in objective type and if you qualify the prelims then you would be allowed to apply for mains exam in which you will have to qualify various 9 papers which are conducted in conventional type pattern and you would be offered to choose any two subjects for your mains exam and all 9 papers contains 2000 marks

Interview Process : If you successfully qualify both of the prelims and mains exam then you would be called for interview process in the UPSC board and if you get success in the interview process then you would become an IAS officer under the Central Government of India

Re: Am I eligible to apply for IAS having completed degree from Correspondence education? Age limit of the same?

    • For getting into the IAS, you must have to apply and qualify in the Civil services examination.
    • Yes you will be eligible to apply for this exam even having completed degree from Correspondence education.
    • But the university from you pursued should be recognised by UPC or AICTE or it established under any state or central act.
    • Since it's an correspondence course it should must also be approved by the Distance education council.
    • The age limit stated for it is 21 years to 30 years. However due to age relaxations the upper age limit for Obc category is 33 years and for sc/st category it is 35 years.

Re: Am I eligible to apply for IAS having completed degree from Correspondence education? Age limit of the same?

For giving the UPSC Civil Service Exam ( CSE ) one have to fulfill the below criteria .

=> one must be either completed graduation in any stream from any recognized college no matter whether you done your graduation in correspondence or regular .

=> A final year students also eligible for the exam but before the Main exam one have to show the Provisional certificate for passing the graduation otherwise one will be disqualified .

=> Age limit is below for different casts like
    21-30 for general cast
    21-33 for OBC
    21-35 for Sc/ST
    21-35 for Ex-serviceman
    21-40 for PWD

=> Maximum attempts are allowed :
    4 for general
    7 for obc
    no limit for sc/st

So if any Indian citizen who fulfill the above criteria are eligible for giving the exam .

The exam structure is straight forward like it consists three parts .

    1) Preliminary exam
    2) Main exam
    3) Personal Interview

So if you are eligible then start the preparation for the exam and give it .
