Re: Am I eligible to apply for IAS exam while appearing in 3rd year B.Tech?

To appear for the IAS exams, you need to give the UPSC conducted Civil services Exams.
This Exams is conducted by UPSC once a year.
This Exam is held in three stages- Prelims, Mains and Interview

Eligibilty to sit in the UPSC Civil Services Exams- Graduation Pass in any stream.

Age- Its should be between 21 and 30 years for the General Candidates
OBS candidates gets 3 years age relaxations and SC/ST candidates gets 5 years age relaxations.

Number of Attempts- 4 for General and 7 for the OBC candidates and No restriction for SC/ST candidates.

Since you are in the 3rd Year, so you cannot apply for the UPSC Civil services exams right now, But once you complete your Btech, you can appear for the Exams.

So, you can give the UPSC civil Services Exams in the year 2014.
