    Hi friend,

First of all congratulations to you for completing your Diploma.
Its good that you are looking forward to do B.Tech.
Since you have done Diploma, hence you'll be admitted directly to the second year of B.Tech under the Lateral Entry quota.
I'll suggest you to first of all give it good try to make it to a good Government Engineering college.
But none the less,if you fail to do so,then too you have a number of options in terms of private colleges.

Here is an image that will show the Top 50 Private Engineering colleges.

You can get admission in these colleges through Management Quota as well.
In this, you are required to pay some amount of money to the college to book a seat.
You need to visit the college to find out how much you need to pay as the colleges don't disclose these things in public!
Hope that this information was helpful to you!

Best of Luck for the future!

    Dear Friend,

As you have completed your diploma in Mechanical you have a provision for getting into the second year of engineering.

This can be made possible by writing the LET(Lateral Entry test).

There is no other way to enter government colleges in merit quota.

But you can enter any private colleges in management quota but you will need to pay a high fee and you will lose one more year since you have to start from the first year on wards(Since you are considered as an intermediate student).

Also there is an alternative option.

AMIE(Associate member of Institute of Engineers) is another option available for you.It is a flexible course and distance learning is possible.

    Wish you all the best.
