Is 85% marks in ICSE exam enough to take admission in good junior colleges for Intermediate? Whether Intermediate syllabus is much easier for the candidate from ICSE board compare to other boards?

I have appeared for ICSE Board Exams and is a little bit confused if I have done the right thing by opting for ICSE Syllabus and not CBSE or State Board one... Many of my relatives say that I should have opted State Board or CBSE Syllabus for my 10th Year as I could get a much higher percentage when compared to ICSE and this will help me get admission in good Junior Colleges for Intermediate.
Can anybody tell me if ICSE Students will be given a preference while taking admissions in good Junior Colleges no matter if that student didn't score above 85% in ICSE Exams? Also, I want to know if Intermediate Syllabus becomes easier for students who passed 10th from ICSE Board when compared to other Boards?
